My First Book Is A Winner, Next Up Publishing

I have some exciting news for you all...{whoever is reading this blogging mess}. I have tried out every year for the past 2 summers and springs for a contest to finish a book with 50,000 words. Who ever wins gets free bragging rights, a free first edition published of your winning book {which I was proud to make all myself, and also happy to say that I have my first edition of my book in my hands at every moment} and let me tell you, there is no real pride than finishing a book. Getting it done. Telling all your good friends, and making your family proud of you for once!! I can never really say I do this all the time, but now that I have won once I have it in my blood to finish more books, and keep thing winning streak going. They are going to be having another writing contest in July, and it looks as though July might be a very busy month for me. There are two writing contests in July, one is the one I have already won, then there is the contest where they actually give you $100 dollars for the Best Fiction Book, so I might be doing both we will have to see for now!! I have a lots to plan, and lots of writing to do!! If you all want to know the Writing Camp I did {and won} here is the link:

http://campnanowrimo.org

They are really good at helping you make your mark, and hitting that 50,000 mark. With the will, a little bit of self strength, and the motivation to get something done is in your blood, than here you go!! Let me tell you the bragging rights feel good, I am not much of a bragger, but that was because I didn't do much to deserve to brag! The month is over, and now my book is nearly forgotten. I plan to get this baby out in stores by Summer, but it might take till Fall! Either way this book is going to get published, I am proud of it, I want people to read it, I want people to get shivers when they read it. I do want to thank the movie Silence Of The Lambs for giving me all the thoughts that came to mind while writing this book, I could go outside the box and think deep dark thoughts just to get through this book. I also want to thank my friends who stuck by me, I don't want to give their names, due to if they want to remain unknown!! They know who they are, and I just want to thank them through all the writing, all the missed days I could have been talking to them, and all the birthday wishes I wished I could have made. I missed a lot of things because of this book, but I was obsessed to get it finished, but they all know that I am back! Thank you all my dear friends! Here is some links I would also like to thank:

If it wasn't for Lulu Publishing I wouldn't have my work with all its flaws sitting in my room looking ever so handsome on my desk. Even though there is a lot of mistakes in the book, this is how I wrote it out and how I wanted it to look, its my first Edition so it should look like this!! So thank you Lulu Publishing!!

Well that is all for now. Just wanted all my blogger readers to know what I have been up to, and why I have been gone for a little bit. If I am ever M.I.A like this just know that I am busy with new work, or sick!! Thank you all for reading, and one day soon you will all see my work!! My Winning Book Whisper's Among The Pines!!

Charlie Rogers Band Interview

Well as I promised, I finally got in my interview with the lovely band called The Charlie Rogers Band. It was such a fun day, and I hope you all enjoy the interview as much as I did. I did update the interview to spare you the agony of reading all of my dorky comments during the interview, I tried to keep it very Pro, yet my inner Geek came out. Please enjoy, and please for Heaven's Sake check out the awesome new Country band on Youtube. You can also find them on Twitter at @CharlieRogersBand. Everyone I give you The Charlie Rogers Band:

First of all I want to thank you for taking the time letting me interview you

Charlie Rogers
Of course!

Rachel S.
So lets get right down to the questions shall we?

Charlie Rogers
Sure thing

Rachel S.
What age was it when you knew that music was in your blood?

Charlie Rogers
I guess it's kind of always been there. We have video of me running down a hill singing the sound of music when I was around 3, but I started piano at around age 5 and kind of built up from there.

Rachel S.
Now that I would like to see. I am sure you get this a lot but you have the looks and vocals of Billy Currington!!

Charlie Rogers
I actually don't lol. Looks wise I get Jared Padaleki or Chad Michael Murray a lot vocally I get Eli Young Band or Gavin DeGraw the most.

Rachel S.
Did you know instantly that this is what you wanted to be? Or did you have struggles trying to figure out what you wanted to do in life?

Charlie Rogers
A part of me had always known that music had to be a big factor in what I did down the line. However that's not to say I didn't have other career paths I considered. For a while I wanted to be a paleontologist, then a marine biologist, then a marine animals speciality vet, then a chef, and an actor but no matter what I tried I always came back to music.

Rachel S.
It feels like a bug doesn't it? You try out for many different things in life, but there is always that one thing you go back to. I call it the bug. That's why I am holding this interview, trying to tell the younger generation its ok to change your mind in changing career paths.

Charlie Rogers
For sure. That's not to say I don't have my other interests, so often musicians get pegged for only being interested in music

Rachel S.
I can see you going for a triple threat!!

Charlie Rogers
Hahaha oh yeah?

Charlie Rogers
I definitely wanna delve into the world the Zac Brown did and have restaurants/cookbooks of my own creation nothing "campy" like margaritaville or Toby Keith's I love this bar and grill though, something respectable lol.

Rachel S.
Who is your Singer Icon that just inspired you towards your Singing career?

Charlie Rogers
Ooo that's a tough one. I have so many. I guess first and foremost I am a Beatles fan (John being my favorite Beatle,) from there it branches out. As far as sound and writing go my icons would be Eli Young Band, Hunter Hayes, Rascal Flatts & Lady A. As far as the live performance goes I'd love to be at the Keith Urban/Lady A level, or of course the massive scale of a T-Swift show.

Rachel S.
Very awesome choices!! So your a little bit old school, little bit country!

Charlie Rogers
My top singing icon at the moment, and for the past few years has got to be David Nail. As far as I'm concerned he has the best male voice in country music right now. That's not to say I don't listen to old school things. I love Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Elvis all the big guys.I also listen to a lot of pop and R&B really the only thing I don't care for is Hardcore & that's just because lyrics are so important to me, and half the time I can't understand what is being said.

Rachel S.
Of course, if you didn't put the King in there I would have to cut the interview short!!

Charlie Rogers
HAHAHAHAHA

Rachel S.
What do you think is the hardest thing about breaking into this buisness?

Charlie Rogers
I think we share the same problems as religions. It's hard to get people to believe in something they see no benefit in believing in.

Charlie Rogers
It's always what can you do for me

Charlie Rogers
It's hard to get people to listen when they have no reason to listen to you. If you're not raking in fans and money on your own. Why should anyone major take a chance with you?

Rachel S.
That's very true. See I  believe in chance and believing in giving people that chance to give it their very best
.
Rachel S.
Its like when people move to L.A for their hopes in becoming a actor. I tried with an acting agent where I live, very cut throat

Charlie Rogers
I think that's true for any business though. Everybody is trying to get ahead of everyone else

Rachel S.
Right. They understand that it is very hard to break through, but it does help if you have a great agent behind you all the way

Charlie Rogers
Oh I'm sure

Rachel S.
Though I see you and your band. I can see you going really far!! I got a feeling.

Charlie Rogers
Thank you! It's good to know people believe in you

Rachel S.
So while we are on the topic, Do you have any words of inspiration for New Up-And-Coming singers of tomorrow?

Charlie Rogers
Oh man lol!! Ummm......I would say dreams can be hard, and they take a lot of work but someone once told me if you can't live without it you better do it

Charlie Rogers
I do think it takes the right mix to be successful as a singer in the industry, not saying that everyone has to be selling out stadiums to have made it, there are other ways of making it with a voice.

Rachel S.
I would like to print that on a piece of wood and put it on my wall!! Very great words of wisdom!

Rachel S.
If you had to change careers {God Forbid} what is the other career choice would you choose, and why?

Charlie Rogers
That's a hard one too. Over the years I've tried to see myself in different careers but if I had to I'd probably cook. Something that allows me to still create and call something my own.

Rachel S.
What is your favorite meal to cook?

Charlie Rogers
I'm not sure I can answer that lol. I love to try new things, I usually will only go back to recipes if I've thought of a way to improve them or have someone ask me to make it, or I'm craving it.I'm good at entrées, dinners, lunches, breakfast things of that sort, not so great at baking. I do the same thing with songs. Even after they're recorded and released.

Rachel S.
A little or a lot everything can get a tweek update may it be music, food, even people for that matter

Charlie Rogers
True.

Rachel S.
So when you bake, do you ask your guests do you want you cookies well done?

Charlie Rogers
Hahahaha no my cookies usually come out more like muffin tops, a little too fluffy to be considered a cookie.

Rachel S.
What singers out there do you dream of working with?

Charlie Rogers
There are a lot. I'd love to do something with Sir Paul McCartney, I'd love to write with Hunter Hayes or Eli Young Band. I'd love to work with JT or Stevie Wonder.

Rachel S.
What would be awesome for you is you do a song with the King, you know like CGI!

Charlie Rogers
Hahaha like they did with Tupac

Rachel S.
Ahhh you know Tupac?

Charlie Rogers
Hey, I never said Rap was off limits lol

Rachel S.
Ha!! That is very true! I am a California girl, so all we listened to was Tupac, and no not the bad area of California, if you were wondering.

Rachel S.
We just pretended to be a gangsters!!

Charlie Rogers
Don't we all lol

Rachel S.
Is there a song of yours that is mirrored like Taylor Swift's? Any heartbreaking songs about a certain someone?

Charlie Rogers
Mirrored as in introspective?

Rachel S.
Yes

Charlie Rogers
One of the songs of the upcoming EP is pretty introspective although I wrote it in a fashion that makes it sound like it's not. As far as songs about a certain someone go that would cover most of them lol. As far as songs about a certain someone go that would cover most of them lol.

Rachel S.
Hey gotta have a muse. Do you think its easier having someone to be your muse in music?

Charlie Rogers
I mean you have to write what you know. I'm not sure my muse knows she's my muse. Not in a creepy way, just in a we don't talk anymore anyway. There are songs that mean more to me than others because they're a lot more personal so in a way I'm my own muse. Sounds narcissistic I know.

Rachel S.
Have you had a starstruck moments with meeting a certain Celebrity that has left you speechless?

Charlie Rogers
I haven't yet. I've run into Keith Urban a few times. I think if I ran into a famous actor or actress I'd be at a loss for words, but to me famous singers are just people like me who have had better luck lol

Rachel S.
When you become a mega Superstar, do you think acting will be a part of your resume?

Charlie Rogers
I would love to do movies! I'd also love to revive something on broadway. (I did a lot of music theater growing up)

Rachel S.
Being on stage doesn't frighten you?

Charlie Rogers
No. If anything it gives me an adrenaline rush that I have come to crave. I'm not an adrenaline junky though, I think my fear of heights Nullifies that.

Rachel S.
What is a moto that you live by?

Charlie Rogers
Another hard one. Take the time to appreciate the little things. Never accept no as an answer to a dream. Do your best to make someone else's life better. At the end of the day people are just people. Never drink cheap wine.

Rachel S.
More words of wisdom to brand on a piece of wood!!

Charlie Rogers
Hahaha get to it, we may have an enterprise!

Rachel S.
Last question I promise, I always have to ask this question! A curious question. Who is you Celebrity Crush?

Charlie Rogers
Emma Watson all the way. She is a gorgeous, outstanding woman who I respect the Hell out of.

Rachel S.
Very classy!! Great choice
Rachel S.

Well it has been so much fun interviewing you!! I want to thank you so much for taking time for my blog!! Thank you Charlie Rogers Band

Charlie Rogers
Of course! Any time! Thanks for interviewing me!
