For anyone out there that is writing their first book, I wish you goo luck and many words! Not many people know how much goes into writing their own book. May it be a Bio, Fiction, or Non Fiction it takes 50,000 to 100,000 words to make a full novel. I never knew that till a friend of mine told me the know how. When I first heard that I thought that is not a mountain that I can't cross.
I started writing two in a half years ago, never thinking that my writing was awful, I wrote like a Country Hick! Laughable now yes, but when I do read some of my old work I think how awful I started out. To this day I still I don't think my work is that great, I like my own work, but I have many worries what other people will think of it once I start getting it out there for everyone to read.
I have always written Romance novels, they are always 25,000 words or less, so they are considered short stories, I hated the way it sounded but I do have two short stories that I love so much. I wrote them both to make a series but it turns out I put them together so they molded into one book. It is not published and I have no plans of publishing it, but it was fun to write. I have two books I plan to publish, hopefully this year, and sadly they will only be published through e-books {my mo thinks for my first books, its a good idea to publish small} hey lets of people have Kindles, and what not.
Though I plan to publish this year, there is still lots to plan. I have to send off my book to Library Of Congress, and they will let me know if my book is copyrighted or not. I will get in 3-6 months my certificate of copyrights, then I am ready to publish! I can't wait, though the nerves of wondering if my book is good enough is quite stressing!
I have many dreams at night about what if my book turns a corner and someone wants to turn it into a show, or movie. I have the cast all picked out, as I always do when I write a book, it makes it easier to write a book when you have certain people that you want to see in it. The picture below are two people that I would love to see if my book turned into a movie. Richard Armitage from The Hobbit, and Evangeline Lilly from Lost. They are both such strong actors that bringing my movie to life would be awesome. Sadly for no they are just dreams, but hey a girl can dream!
I will share a little part of my book. It is a Mystery/Thriller/Murder Mystery all in one, it is my first of this kind of story line, it took me a year to perfect it, but I can safely say it is nearly done Whisper's Among The Pines is nearly complete! I hope you enjoy a little tidbit of my book, and I hope you all can read it later this year!
EXPERT OF WHISPER'S AMONG THE PINES:
''Carl?'' the man in black said sounding hurt.
''Yeah?''
''Carl, I think you're abusing what I gave you. I don't think I like this one bit. Honey step out for a bit please'' the man said handing the women a hundred-dollar bill. They stepped out, leaving the men alone. The man in black stood up and walked over to the curtain and closed it. Not that it helped much since it was sheer, but no one was going to mind two men in a private room.
He walked over to Carl from the behind and bent down to his level. He wrapped his arms around Carl and put his mouth close to the right ear. He smiled a devilish smile and started to whisper into Carl's ear. As he finished he stood back up and listened to the most beautiful music that he had heard all night. The sound of Carl gasping and gurgling for life was intoxicating to the man in black. he had gotten rid of the person who abused him, he used the money for greed, when he should have left town. Carl didn't know who he was up against. The man in black had to get rid of the pocket knife he had used to cut open Carl's throat from ear to ear with. He knew that one of the girls would be arriving back soon for another fix from Carl. He took a cloth napkin from the table and wiped some of the blood from his hands. He then stuck the napkin into his jeans pocket, so to make sure no evidence would be left behind. He looked over to Carl who bent his head back from death. He looked over to the blood spatter on the curtains in front of him.
